This lesson embeds Universal Design for Learning (UDL) principles alongside ZPD-aligned differentiation to ensure all 90 students can engage meaningfully.
Groups are formed using diagnostic quiz data to ensure each group contains a range of proficiency levels. Less confident readers receive peer scaffolding; stronger readers are challenged to articulate their thinking clearly.
Three to four versions of Text B are prepared at different complexity levels. All groups complete the same annotation task, but with appropriately challenging source texts.
